What to Expect
I know it can be hard to ask for help, and it takes courage to do so. I applaud you for taking the first steps to finding the support you need. Whether it’s your first time in counseling or you’re returning for a check-in, you may find yourself feeling a bit anxious about the process, and I want to tell you... It’s okay. Most people feel the same, especially when it’s the first time. Here’s a road map of what you can expect when starting therapy with me – just follow the steps below.

Free Phone Consultation
You and I will have a 20-minute chat to talk about your needs and what you’re looking for in therapy. This is a chance to cover any questions you may have, learn about my approach, and figure out if working with me could be a good fit for you. It’s important that you feel we have a good connection. Therefore, I welcome you asking a lot of questions to make sure you feel comfortable with me and with the therapy process!
At the end of our consultation, if you feel we might be a good fit, we’ll schedule an initial intake session. Then, I'll email you paperwork (i.e. consent for services, policies, and a questionnaire) for you to review, complete and bring to your first appointment.
Initial Intake Session
The first session is focused on information gathering. We will explore what brings you in and where you want to be. You'll have the chance to get to know me and experience my approach.
If you feel that working together could be beneficial, we'll find a day and time to meet, either weekly or biweekly depending on your needs. I offer evening appointments convenient for work schedules. Sessions typically last 50 minutes.
